表装とは、書画を引き立たせる為の様々な完成された素材の集合体でもある。
和紙や裂地等の伝統素材を駆使して観るものに感動を与える。
今回、その素材に着目し、素材のみで完結する「表具」を目指す。
アナイスさんの藍染め、デザインはフランスの空気感を醸し出す。
パリの素材、京都の仕立ての融合をひとつの形に完成させました。
“Kakejiku”, hanging scroll, fascinates me by its power of beautiful compositions with lines and textures. This abstract work invites us to contemplate and meditate. In a way, it is close to indigo dyeing, which is a permanent quest for the expression of emotion through a pure color.
Meeting with Masahiro, I chose to approach this project through extracting the essence of the western tailoring, made of curved lines, and Japanese kimono, constructed with straight lines. On the front side of the garment, there are traces of a western jacket and the presence of the body, whereas on the back, the emblematic rectangular “kinran” fabric stands out as an open window to further imaginations.
